About TDRA

According to the provisions of the UAE  Federal Law by Decree No 3 of 2003 on Regulation of the Telecommunications Sector, (Telecom Law), TDRA(Telecommunications And Digital Government Regulatory Authority) is authorized to take charge of formulating and managing relevant regulations and certification matters related to radio and telecommunications communications.

All Radio Equipment (RE) and Telecommunication Terminal Equipment (TTE) must comply with the requirements of the specific technical standards of TDRA,and then register on the TDRA website. Only after obtaining Type Approval certificate and label can it be used, sold or distributed within the United Arab Emirates.

Who needs to register TDRA approval?

All manufacturers, importers or distributors of Telecommunications Equipment who plan to sale within UAE.

Basic Information

Certificate holder: UAE company

Certificate validity：3 years(if the certificate is expired, it can be renewable for another 3 years.)

process leadtime：1-2 weeks

Single or series：one certificate one model

local testing：NA(note: if the product is mobile phone, it needs two samples to do conduct functional tests of CNAP, CBS and LTE. Besides, only 2/3G function phone is prohibited in local.

Sample requirement：

One sample for the following equipment type:

Wireless LANs (WLANs)or Wi-Fi; Analogue Private Mobile Radio(PMR)Equipment

Maritimeservices radio; Amateur Radio; TETRA

•Two samples for the following equipment type: 

Mobile phone; Drone

Type approval conformity mark: 

The following conformity statement template must be on the Telecommunications Equipment package box and on display platforms in retail stores and websites. The colored or white and black template can be used.

The QR code shall be placed as indicated above which includes a URL of the approved Equipment in TDRA

Required document

1. Official technical datasheet for all levels

2. Test report for RF, EMC, Safety standards issued by an accredited laboratory (International

Laboratory Accreditation Corporation-ILAC Levels II and III)

3. Declaration of conformity by the applicant

4. (if applicable) Certificate of International Mobile Station Equipment Identity (IMEI) for smart network-enabled devices

5. (if applicable) sample for Mobile phone and drones.
